Allison Janney bio
Allison Brooks Janney has been an American actress for over 20 years. She is known for her performances on screen and stage. Additionally, she's received nominations for two Tony Awards and has won an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award as well as a Golden Globe Award, and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Allison Janney was a regional actress for almost twenty years before she became well known for her role as White House Press secretary C.J. Gregg in the wildly popular and highly acclaimed drama on television The West Wing (NBC 1999-2006). Allison Janney was always a late bloomer. Her driving permit was not given until 17 - a year later than the majority of her classmates were from Ohio. Her first date didn't happen until she was enrolled in the university. Despite auditioning as early as age 23, she only appeared on screen in her 30s. Faris is very picky about what roles she plays after she left Mom in the year 2020. One exception being 2022's The Estate. Faris has told PEOPLE exclusively that it was not her decision. Anna Faris left her popular CBS sitcom, Mom, before the eighth and final season. The time was when Faris said she was leaving to pursue new opportunities, but now she's opening up more about what made her step back from acting, it wasn't really an intentional decision at the time. Janney wears a wig on her show ever from the start. The producers didn't need to worry. Fallon added, "So, now everybody knows that Janney has been sporting the wig for the show since it started. Janney will carry the wig she wore in order to celebrate the event. During the initial seasons of her series, Janney was able to earn anywhere between $125,000 and $250,000 per episode. Faris made an estimated $200 per episode in the fourth and third seasons.
